Jones Tavern
Preservation work on this museum house
owned by the Iron Work Farm in Acton, Inc., was completed in
two separate construction contracts. Under a
Massachusetts Historical Commission Preservation Projects
Grant in 1993, extensive stabilization and repairs to the
post-and-beam structure were completed, as well as prepping
and painting the exterior of the house. In 2007, a
Community Preservation Act grant from the town was used to
replace wood shingle roofing and install new copper gutters.
Both contracts were monitored by a historical architect to
ensure that the work was executed in accordance with The
Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of
Historic Properties. |
