This 1950's three-bedroom ranch was more than doubled in
size with the addition of a second story under a gambrel
roof, a new screened porch, and garage expansion. The
original one-story exterior walls were extended in height to
allow higher ceilings in the first floor rooms, and the new
second-floor space was tucked under a gambrel roof with
dormers to keep the height of the expanded house in scale
with the neighboring houses. With four new bedrooms on
the second floor, the old first-floor bedrooms and bath were
replaced with a formal dining room and parlor. The
project included a new eat-in kitchen, two staircases to the
second floor, as well as all new electrical and mechanical
systems. |
